Here the lid is being filled with the refractory
cement. This process took about an hour to complete. I made small
batches of the refractory so that I could a handle on the water to
cement ratio. I wanted the mix as dry as possible but moist enough to
be workable. This took about 3/4 of a 55-lb bag of refractory. I found that
about 1.25 gallons of water per 55-lb bag was what I needed.
